As part of AutoMate's "tri-level" error handling system, errors may be handled on a per step, per task, or per system basis. The settings on the Error tab of the Task Administrator Task Properties, allow configuration of per-task error handlers. Using these options, a task can be configured to email an administrator if any step inside that task fails.
There are several options available for handling a task error:
Email
The task can send an email message containing the task and error information
if a failure occurs. The
default mail server configured in the System Options is used to send the
message.
Log File
The Error can be sent to a task-specific log file. This log file is separate
and in addition to the AutoMate system Log file.
Run a Task
A default error handling task can be configured to run if an error occurs
in the task.
Windows Event Log
An entry can be created in the Windows Event Log if an error occurs in
the task.
